June 11, 2021 -- Nucleome Therapeutics has gained an exclusive license from its academic founders at the University of Oxford to a micro capture-C (MCC) method that maps the 3D genome structure with single-base-pair resolution.
The methodology utilizes a chromosome conformation capture method to determine physical contacts between different classes of regulatory elements, and it was recently described in a paper published in Nature on June 9. The paper details specific interactions between enhancers, promoters, and CCCTC-binding factor (CTCF) sites, and how transcription factors have an important role in the maintenance of the contacts between enhancers and promoters.
