November 11, 2020 -- Pressure BioSciences has been awarded U.S. patent No. 10,823,259 for its Ultra Shear Technology platform, bringing the company's intellectual property patent total to 26.

Ultra Shear Technology was created to process immiscible liquids into macro or micro emulsions to produce nanoemulsions. Emulsions are used for diverse applications from medical products to pharmaceuticals and various food products. Scientific evidence demonstrates that nanoemulsions have improved absorption, higher bioavailability, greater stability, and lower surfactant levels.

The company believes that the Ultra Shear Technology will help commercial operations effectively scale-up production of nanoemulsions in a cost-effective manner.
