Astellas, MBC BioLabs call for scientists to enter 'Golden Ticket Competition'

By The Science Advisory Board staff writers

September 29, 2020 -- Astellas Venture Management and Mission Bay Capital BioLabs (MBC BioLabs) are collaborating again on the "Golden Ticket Competition," which offers up to two scientists or emerging biotechnology startups one-year access to state-of-the-art laboratory space and access to Astellas' scientists and business leaders.

The competition is a joint effort by the companies to support scientists and early-stage companies to accelerate their novel therapeutic programs, modalities, or platforms. For 2020, the companies are interested in all areas of discovery and new innovations for unmet medical needs, that align with Astellas' focus area approach.

The inaugural competition was held in 2019, where AmbAgon Therapeutics and Gordian Biotechnology were chosen as the winners.

The competition is open from September 29 to October 27, 2020. Entrepreneurial scientists and emerging life science or biotechnology startups should submit their nonconfidential company presentation, including a one-page executive summary, to astellasgoldenticket@mbcbiolabs.com to be considered.
