Pressure BioSciences opens CBD processing demo lab

By The Science Advisory Board staff writers

February 27, 2020 -- Pressure BioSciences announced on February 27 the official opening of a new demonstration lab dedicated to processing CBD at its South Easton, MA, facility.

The lab will showcase the company's Ultra Shear Technology platform, which processes CBD oil into true, high-quality water-soluble nanoemulsions. This substance provides higher bioavailability than the macro- or microemulsions used in most CBD products, according to Pressure BioSciences. The facility will also provide potential customers the opportunity to evaluate how their formulations will work with the platform.

The platform can process CBD oil from independent manufacturers and convert them to clear, water-soluble nanoemulsions using a first-generation BaroShear system. This process is attractive to several industries, including pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and chemical.
