Dotphoton and Hamamatsu Photonics optimize raw image compression data

April 29, 2022 -- Dotphoton and Hamamatsu Photonics have entered into a partnership to optimize the storage and processing of data from raw image compression. The goal of the collaboration is to create higher-quality image data to be used in settings involving microscopy, such as drug discovery and cell research.

The partnership will involve the use of artificial intelligence to process a large volume of images at high quality by combining Dotphoton's Jetraw software with Hamamatsu's Orca cameras. This enables greater data management alongside the high sensitivity, fast readout, and low background noise associated with Hamamatsu's cameras.

Furthermore, the Jetraw software allows for a high raw image compression ratio and fast processing speeds, resulting in significantly reduced storage costs and limitations due to data transfer speeds. These technologies are also readily scalable for long-term use, according to the companies.
