Waters introduces Xevo TQ mass spectrometer

By The Science Advisory Board staff writers

April 7, 2022 -- Waters has launched the new Xevo TQ (tandem quadrupole) absolute system, a high-performance, 45% smaller mass spectrometer.

Xevo TQ is 15 times more sensitive for analyzing negatively ionized compounds. It gives high sensitivity, quantification, productivity, and efficiency, using up to 50% less electricity and gas supply than conventional mass spectrometers, the company said.

The Xevo mass spectrometer can be paired with Waters' Acquity Premier Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography System with MaxPeak high performance surfaces technology. Xevo can also be used with the waters_connect software platform and is compatible with Waters MassLynx mass spectrometry software.

In addition, the company said that Xevo TQ was tailored to meet sustainability goals.
