Fujifilm acquires Shenandoah Biotechnology

March 30, 2022 -- Fujifilm Irvine Scientific has acquired recombinant protein manufacturer Shenandoah Biotechnology in a deal aimed at broadening its capabilities to support life science research, discovery, and cell and gene therapy.

Shenandoah’s manufacturing portfolio includes its cell therapy grade line of cytokines and growth factors produced following current good manufacturing practice guidelines in the company’s new ISO 9002:2015 certified facility. Fujifilm said that Shenanondoah Biotechnology’s recombinant protein portfolio complements its line of serum-free and cell culture media.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
