Agilent reports revenue increase for Q2

By The Science Advisory Board staff writers

May 27, 2021 -- Agilent Technologies saw revenue exceed expectations for the company's second quarter, while net income more than doubled.

For the period, Agilent reported revenue of $1.5 billion (end-April 30), an increase of 23% compared to $1.2 billion in the second quarter of 2020. The company's net income for the period was $216 million, versus $101 million in the corresponding quarter of 2020.

Company leaders said the results exceeded expectations. Agilent also acquired Resolution Bioscience this past quarter, continuing the company's investment in high-growth markets as part of its "build and buy" growth strategy.

Company leaders also said because of the second quarter's results, Agilent is raising its revenue and earnings outlook for the full year.
