Repertoire, Yale partner to study T-cell contributions to MS

By The Science Advisory Board staff writers

April 29, 2021 -- Repertoire Immune Medicines is collaborating with Yale University to understand the basis of cellular immunity of multiple sclerosis (MS) by determining what types of antigens are activating T cells in patients.

Under the collaboration, Repertoire and Yale will work together to identify subsets of T cells obtained from the cerebrospinal fluid of MS patients and determine the pathogenic T cells responsible for the disease and the antigens that activate them. Yale researchers will provide human T-cell receptor (TCR) sequences to Repertoire, which will then use its proprietary Decode platform to determine novel antigens that these TCRs identify.

The goal of the collaboration is to uncover unique insights into how T cells contribute to the pathogenesis of the neurodegenerative disease.

The Yale research team will be led by Dr. David Hafler, a professor of neurology and immunobiology at the Yale School of Medicine, and neurologist in chief at Yale New Haven Hospital.

Financial details of the collaboration were not disclosed.
