Sexton collaborates to improve flexible automation

By The Science Advisory Board staff writers

March 26, 2021 -- Sexton Biotechnologies has formed a partnership with Hitech Health and Med Institute covering flexible automation for cell and gene therapy manufacturers.

Sexton's Signata CT-5 is a flexible fluid management system that's capable of integrating multiple processes into the same system.

The partnership will aim at demonstrating the value of Sexton's automation system, working with Hitech Health and Med Institute to show how easily it connects with other tools in the manufacturing workflow. The collaboration will address technology bottlenecks that block aggressive development and manufacturing timelines and will show how the new fluid management system can make processing more efficient.

The collaboration between the companies will result in detailed workflows demonstrating capabilities with bioreactors, packaging, formulation, and additional equipment. These efforts are currently underway with publication of workflows expected to begin soon.
