Active Motif partners with Arima Genomics to provide Hi-C service

February 9, 2021 -- Active Motif, a company focused on epigenetics-based research tools and services, has launched an end-to-end Hi-C service in partnership with Arima Genomics, a spatial genome information company, to investigate 3D folding patterns of the genome.

Hi-C is the primary method used by researchers to investigate how genome folding and mis-folding affects gene accessibility, regulation, and expression, as well as the effects on disease states.

The Hi-C service launch builds on Active's other epigenetic services, including chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP)-sequencing and assay for transposase-accessible chromatin (ATAC)-sequencing. The new Hi-C service gives researchers even more ways to analyze their samples, according to the company. The service will be available to academic, pharmaceutical, and clinical researchers.

"Our validation has shown that the Arima-HiC+ kits provide superior data resolution, ease of use, and reproducibility, said Fritz Eibel, chief commercial officer at Active Motif. "These requirements are essential to study genetics and epigenetics in both the biopharma and translational medicine settings where precious patient samples are investigated.''
