BD granted FDA clearance for sample preparation system

By The Science Advisory Board staff writers

October 6, 2020 -- Becton Dickinson (BD) announced that it has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for an integrated sample preparation system, FacsDuet.

The BD FacsLyric Flow Cytometer with BD FacsDuet sample preparation system allows facilities to fully automate the assay sample process. The automated system helps speed up time to an answer and reduces errors by limiting manual user interactions, according to the company.

The system integrates with existing BD flow cytometry solutions. It also works with the BD FacsLink middleware solution for bidirectional communication of data between instruments and laboratory information systems.
