Part 2: How does HelaPlex equip students for success in the life sciences?

March 28, 2022 -- How can the life sciences industry improve inclusion and equity and encourage a more diverse workforce? One solution is HelaPlex, a workforce development program created by Tia Lyles-Williams, an emerging biotechnology entrepreneur and founder of three companies.

Lyles-Williams recently partnered with IndyGeneUS AI for a $500 million government contract and is pioneering HelaPlex, a workforce development program for underserved communities and Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) students to enter or skill up in clinical lab roles.

In the second installment of a three-part series on ScienceBoard, Lyles-Williams describes how HelaPlex goes beyond equipping the individual to benefit all levels of an organization. In particular, HelaPlex can equip students in the life sciences for success as they progress in their careers.
