April 27, 2022 -- Portal Innovations is collaborating with Life Technologies, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, to combine Life Technologies’ lab equipment and software with Portal’s seed investments and laboratory infrastructure.

The partnership is designed to allow Portal's life sciences startups to begin their research and development immediately when they move into the lab space, according to the companies.

Portal uses a crafted-capital model to invest seed financial funding, provide access to wet and dry lab space, and offer management expertise to startups. In terms of physical space, Portal has partnered with commercial real estate developer Trammell Crow to support companies in its existing 50,000 sq ft of wet and dry lab and office spaces in Chicago.
