Schott Minifab to acquire Applied Microarrays

By The Science Advisory Board staff writers

September 30, 2021 -- Microfluidic device developer Schott Minifab will acquire Applied Microarrays, strengthening its ability to offer a single-source manufacturing service.

The acquisition, which is expected to close in October, significantly expands Schott's biosensor printing capabilities. This capability is especially important as demand grows for manufacturing point-of-care microarray consumables, specifically applications for infectious disease detection, according to Schott.

Applied will soon move to a larger facility in Arizona, which will increase its manufacturing footprint in the U.S.
