April 19, 2021 -- GemPharmatech and the University of California, Davis (UC Davis) have entered into a service agreement for the UC Davis Mouse Biology Program to provide services to reanimate, cryopreserve, and ship live mice to GemPharmatech customers in the U.S.

GemPharmatech is a provider of animal models including humanized animal models supporting preclinical research and development. The new agreement will allow GemPharmatech customers to receive mice in the U.S. from a U.S. facility with shorter shipping times and lower costs. It also enables the company to provide animal models and services faster and closer to customers in the research and development community.

The UC Davis Mouse Biology Program is an academic resource that provides expertise and consultation, including technological assistance, infrastructure, and support to the scientific community in the development, application, and use of genetically altered mice for biomedical research on diseases, behavioral abnormalities, and developmental disorders.

Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
