Sherlock discovers novel CRISPR-associated enzymes

By The Science Advisory Board staff writers

December 7, 2020 -- Sherlock Biosciences has announced the discovery of novel thermostable CRISPR-associated (Cas) enzymes.

The thermostable proteins enable real-time detection of RNA and DNA targets. They also advance multiplexing abilities to detect multiple targets in a single test with Sherlock's licensed Cas12 and Cas13 enzymes.

Sherlock discovered the Cas enzymes in partnership with researchers from Rosetta Biosciences. Rosetta utilized its artificial intelligence engine and protein design platform to create a pipeline of novel Cas enzymes.
