Waters establishes innovation and research lab in Cambridge

September 22, 2020 -- Waters has established Immerse Cambridge, a new research laboratory in the heart of Cambridge, MA, where the company can partner with academic, research, and industry to accelerate the next generation of scientific advancements.

The new lab, located in Kendall Square, is an open concept space featuring the latest analytical, informatics, and automation tools that apply to a variety of disciplines across the life sciences. The lab is optimized for training, joint research, and mentoring experiences for students and rising industry professionals.

The cornerstone project at Immerse Cambridge will feature researchers from Boston University and Waters co-developing more effective influenza A virus vaccines. The project, co-funded by the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center, will use ion mobility-mass spectrometry and bioinformatics technologies to develop more effective methods for measuring protein glycosylation.

The company also announced that it also joined MassBio, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing, treating, and curing diseases through transformative science and technology.
