Thermo Fisher opens new bioprocessing collaboration center

By The Science Advisory Board staff writers

September 9, 2020 -- Thermo Fisher Scientific has opened a new bioprocessing collaboration center in St. Louis to accelerate innovations in biologics manufacturing.

The facility is next to the company's existing biologics manufacturing facility, at which the company recently doubled production capacity with a $50 million expansion. The new center will help Thermo Fisher meet the growing demand of biopharma companies for more flexible, scalable biologics development and manufacturing solutions.

The center will bring together the company's leadership in good manufacturing practice biologics manufacturing and expertise in bioprocessing technologies including bioreactors, cell culture media, chromatography, and analytical tools. The company plans to leverage single-use bioprocessing technologies to provide process, data management, and quality improvements to scale up solutions for its biopharma customers.
