LabCentral debuts platform to attract people to biotech

By The Science Advisory Board staff writers

January 13, 2021 -- LabCentral has launched a platform that aims to broaden and diversify the biotech industry's base of talent.

The LabCentral Ignite platform will facilitate broader access to the industry through the use of internal programming and grants to nonprofits focused on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education, workforce training, and entrepreneurial development. The initiative will focus on reaching socioeconomically disadvantaged, underserved, and underrepresented individuals and communities.

LabCentral already has awarded $185,000 in grants to the following organizations:

  • Jewish Vocational Service
  • MassBioEd
  • Station1
  • BioBuilder Education Foundation
  • Gloucester Biotechnology Academy
  • HMS MedScience
  • Just A Start
  • The Leaders through Education, Action, and Hope (LEAH) Project
  • Life Science Cares
  • Tutoring Plus of Cambridge
