PLEASE READ THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS CAREFULLY. BY ACCESSING OR PARTICIPATING IN THE SCIENCE ADVISORY BOARD’S REWARDS PROGRAM, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND ALL TERMS INCORPORATED BY REFERENCE AS DESCRIBED BELOW. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, YOU MAY NOT ACCESS OR PARTICIPATE IN THE SCIENCE ADVISORY BOARD’S REWARDS PROGRAM.
These Terms and Conditions apply to your access to and participation in the Science Advisory Board’s Rewards Program, which is operated by The Science Advisory Board (collectively, “the Science Advisory Board,” “our,” “us,” or “we”). These Terms and Conditions do not alter in any way the terms or conditions of any other agreement you have with us. Your access to and participation in the Rewards Program is also governed by the terms, conditions, limitations and requirements referenced herein, all of which (as may be changed from time to time) are incorporated herein. In addition, these Terms and Conditions complement and incorporate by reference our Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict between our Terms of Service and these Terms and Conditions, the Terms of Service will control.
Eligibility
Our Members are automatically eligible for participation in our Rewards Program. You are a Member if you have an account on www.scienceboard.net.
Program Description
We reward Members for participating in a variety of activities that benefit our community, including online surveys, onsite or electronic focus groups, individual consulting interviews, and hands-on product testing. For designated activities, Members who successfully complete such activities are compensated with ViewPoints.
Joining the Rewards Program
You are automatically enrolled in the Rewards Program when you become a Member.
Earning ViewPoints
Any applicable ViewPoints are automatically added to a Member's account upon completion of a qualifying activity.
Redemption of ViewPoints
Accumulated ViewPoints may be redeemed (1) for items in the Rewards Catalog, or (2) for inclusion in our Charitable Activities, as described below.
Expiration of ViewPoints
ViewPoints must be redeemed within 365 days of the date awarded. After 365 days, ViewPoints will automatically expire and may no longer be redeemed for rewards.
Accessing The Rewards Catalog
To access the Reward Center: (1) Go to www.scienceboard.net; (2) Login to your Member Account; (3)
Click the "Get Rewarded" option on the top menu bar.
Forfeiting your ViewPoints
Members must remain active and not have discontinued membership to maintain their ViewPoints. Active Membership is defined as participating in a market research survey, community discussion, submitting content the community, or participating in a poll, or updating your Member profile, within the past 365 days. A Member who is not Active forfeits all of his or her ViewPoints.
All of a Member’s unredeemed ViewPoints are forfeited upon termination of Membership.
Charitable Activities
We are committed to advancing charitable causes, particularly in the areas of health, science, medicine, technology, and education. You have the option of donating any ViewPoints you earn to our charitable activities. At least annually, we will contribute all Member-donated ViewPoints to one or more qualified 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organizations of our choice. The amount of our contribution will be calculated as:
Number of donated ViewPoints x Assigned Point Value
The Assigned Point Value is determined by our sole discretion. We limit our maximum annual contribution to $25,000. ViewPoints have no cash value, and no cash redemption is available for ViewPoints.
The recipient and donation amount will be identified here. For 2017, we are proud to donate $13,815.00, with $10,000.00 going to Direct Relief, and the remainder to the Tri-Beta Honors Society.
Right to Change/Modify/Cancel
We reserve the right to change, modify, and/or eliminate the Rewards Program and/or all or any portion of these Terms and Conditions or any policy pertaining to the Rewards Program at any time and in our sole discretion, including our right to discontinue or change the benefits or expiration date of ViewPoints received under the Rewards Program, adjust how ViewPoints are earned, calculated or redeemed. It is possible that you may be unable to receive enough ViewPoints to redeem if we discontinue the Rewards Program. We will post any changes we make here and update the “Effective Date” above. We may also attempt to notify you in other ways. Unless we indicate otherwise, the amended Terms and Conditions will be effective immediately and your continued participation in the Rewards Program after the amended Terms and Conditions are posted will confirm your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree with the amended Terms and Conditions, you must stop participating in the Rewards Program.
