Promega launches new Lumit assays

By Leah Sherwood, The Science Advisory Board assistant editor

March 31, 2022 -- Life sciences firm Promega has launched new bioluminescent assays for researchers studying immunity and inflammation.

Lumit Cytokine Immunoassays can now quantitatively detect cytokine release from cell culture samples in 70 minutes compared to hours via traditional assays, the company said.

The immunoassays were designed to aid in basic research or high-throughput screening for drug discovery and development. The company said that while traditional enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays-based cytokine detection methods can require hours of hands-on time to produce results, Lumit Cytokine Immunoassays offer a simpler, faster protocol.
