GVN announces Rising Star Mentorship cohort

August 18, 2021 -- The Global Virus Network (GVN) has announced the inaugural members of its Rising Star Mentorship program.

The following researchers will receive training and mentoring to help them in their virology careers:

  • Dr. Jana Broadhurst, PhD, assistant professor of pathology and microbiology, University of Nebraska Medical Center
  • Kizzmekia Corbet, PhD, assistant professor of immunology and infectious diseases, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health
  • Adeola Fowotade, PhD, instructor of medical microbiology and parasitology, University of Ibadan, Nigeria
  • Vineet Menachery, PhD, assistant professor of immunology and infectious diseases, University of Texas Medical Branch
  • Piya Paul Mudgal, PhD, associate professor of virology, Manipal Institute of Virology, India

The program was created to identify and support promising early career investigators to help them become leaders in the field of infectious diseases and to support the development of diagnostic and interventional approaches to fight human pathogens.
