BioMade launches new biomanufacturing institute

By The Science Advisory Board staff writers

April 28, 2021 -- BioMade is launching a new manufacturing innovation institute that is dedicated to biomanufacturing research and development, with a focus on sustainable alternatives to methods that rely on fossil fuels.

The institute aims to strengthen the U.S. bioeconomy, which is projected to have a maximum $4 trillion economic effect annually across the globe by 2040. BioMade aims to support the surge in bio-industrial manufacturing capacity that is expected in the U.S. The organization aims to help bridge the gap between young companies with cutting-edge expertise and well-established companies to produce compounds and materials on a larger scale.

A virtual launch will be held on April 28 between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Join the launch from the BioMade Zoom webpage. BioMade will also make its inaugural call for project proposals later this week.
