Zeiss Microscopy teams with LabCentral to support Boston-area biotech startups

By The Science Advisory Board staff writers

June 13, 2022 -- Zeiss Microscopy has entered a strategic partnership with LabCentral, a nonprofit company that serves as a launchpad for biotech startups in the Boston area.

The partnership will provide Zeiss microscopy and image analysis resources to life science researchers, which will include bench space and access to equipment that typically is too time intensive and cost prohibitive to procure on their own.

Zeiss is providing microscopy equipment to LabCentral's researchers for routine cell culture assessment, automated high-resolution imaging of live cells, and whole slide scanning of fixed cells and tissues. In addition, advanced electron microscopy including cryogenic electron microscopy for assessment of intracellular ultra-resolution structures will be made available. Zeiss is also providing access to artificial intelligence and deep-learning image analysis solutions for increasing experimental time-to-results.
