Bruker debuts compact 1.0 GHz NMR magnet

April 27, 2022 -- Bruker debuted a compact 1.0 GHz nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) magnet for use in structural biology laboratories at the Experimental Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Conference 2022.

Called Bruker Ascend Evo 1.0 GHz, the NMR magnet offers significantly reduced ceiling height, weight, and footprint, allowing for more seamless integration into a single-story standard laboratory. In addition, the magnet features a threefold reduction in liquid helium consumption.

These innovations improve access of this technology to researchers in laboratories of varying sizes, according to Bruker.

Additionally, Bruker has unveiled its limited-release Heliosmart Recovery solution. This system can be retrofitted onto installed NMR magnets to collect helium gas boil-off, with steady-state recovery rates of 80% to 85%.

Bruker has also launched its LabScape Remote Monitoring system to complement these NMR innovations with proactive magnet and cryogen refill monitoring capabilities.
