April 22, 2021 -- BioTools Innovator is seeking industry experts to join its judging panel for a competition designed to accelerate the growth of startups developing life science tools.

BioTools Innovator is sponsoring a competition in which selected companies may win up to $200,000 in funding and an in-kind award as part of the BioTools Innovator Final Competition, which will be held in mid-October 2021. The company has issued a call for judges to review entries.

Judges will help evaluate early-stage startups developing tools for the life sciences during the upcoming Road Tour, a series of virtual pitch events held on June 9, 23, and 30. These events consist of partnering sessions where industry judges will meet with the top startups from the 2021 applicant pool. Startups get feedback and judges gain insights from peers and other experts.

BioTools Innovator is in search of individuals with one or more of the following qualifications:

  • Active investors in the life science space
  • Business development/external innovation representatives at a midsize to large biotechnology company
  • End users of life science tools and diagnostics (e.g., academic, government, healthcare, and biopharma)
  • Subject matter experts in technology/commercialization
  • Other industry thought leaders/enthusiasts
