By The Science Advisory Board staff writers

February 11, 2020 -- MilliporeSigma has introduced BrightLab, a cloud-based inventory management and instrument connectivity platform for research scientists.

BrightLab includes an electronic lab notebook that enables scientists and lab managers to track and update experiments from any computer or mobile device, according to the company. The software also utilizes application programming interface (API) and Internet of Things (IoT) integrations to connect lab instruments to the cloud.

What's more, the platform automates workflow and provides a searchable report archive, MilliporeSigma said. It uses secure sockets layer (SSL) encryption and provides audit trails and regular backups.

Individual lab customers in academia can use the platform for no charge, while those in the industry can test the product in a 30-day free trial.
