October 27, 2021 -- CEM has unveiled its Prodigy preparative high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) system.
Prodigy features an elevated temperature capability that yields improved resolution and separation capabilities, according to the vendor. Prodigy was designed with a focus to improve the purification of biomolecules, such as synthetic peptides. Prodigy can be used with column diameters up to 50 mm that allow for loading of more than 1 g of peptide per injection, CEM said.
The system includes a focused gradient calculator that enables optimized method transfer from the analytical to the preparative scale without the need to perform scouting runs, according to the firm. Prodigy also simplifies the transfer process by allowing the use of the same temperature at the preparative scale, CEM said.
In a related development, CEM also released its Intrepid series of HPLC columns. Optimized for use with Prodigy, the Intrepid series provides silica characteristics with minimal backpressure, according to the company.
