Medidata lands Labcorp as new client

By The Science Advisory Board staff writers

September 15, 2021 -- Labcorp Drug Development has chosen Medidata's Sensor Cloud platform to expand its decentralized clinical trial capabilities.

Medidata will receive and process medical-grade sensor data within drug, vaccine, and device trials across Labcorp's drug development clinical trial portfolio.

Additionally, the companies will use the digital health technology data platform to co-develop digital biomarkers across an array of medical devices and therapeutic areas. The platform will utilize Mediadata's Sensor Cloud platform to process sensor data and establish interoperability with other clinical data sources.

The goal of the partnership is to build a library of digital biomarkers that can be used to advance therapeutic research and diagnostics. The first project will be an at-home version of the six-minute walk test, which is used in clinics to measure functional capacity in patients with heart failure, pulmonary conditions, physical function disorders, and rare diseases.
