February 3, 2021 -- The global clinical trial imaging market is projected to reach $1.4 billion by 2028, according a new report by Grand View Research.

The growth is propelled by increases in research and development spending to find new drugs and therapies to treat chronic diseases.

In 2020, project and data management services made up the largest spending share due to the growing requirement of data management and workflow for clinical trial imaging. Operational imaging services, including magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography (CT), and ultrasound, also held a significant share in 2020. CT, specifically, has gained in popularity due to its noninvasive nature and its ability to provide detailed information about diseases for enhanced treatment, according to the report.
