Thermo Fisher unveils new NK cell culture medium

October 6, 2021 -- Thermo Fisher Scientific has introduced Gibco Cell Therapy Systems NK-Xpander Medium, a new cell culture medium that supports the large-scale growth and culture of functional natural killer (NK) cells for cell and gene therapies.

The medium, which can support the growth of NK cells with or without the use of feeder cells, is the first for the company to be especially designed to support expansion of NK cells for cell therapy applications. It's also supported by raw material traceability and regulatory documentation, Thermo Fisher Scientific said.
