January 13, 2022 -- Waters has expanded its Waters Connect informatics software platform to support customers analyzing food and environmental samples with Waters' tandem quadrupole mass spectrometers.

The new MS Quan application for Waters Connect allows labs screening large numbers of samples a more efficient way of processing and reviewing data and identifying batch-to-batch variations, the company said.

For labs using Waters Xevo mass spectrometers, the MS Quan app quickly and accurately converts measurement data on compounds into meaningful results in a traceable, compliant, and secure manner, Waters said. The MS Quan app includes an exception-focused review feature that can reduce data review time by up to 50%.

Several scientists from Primoris, a contract laboratory in Belgium, participated in the beta testing of the MS Quan software. The Waters Connect for quantitation workflow and MS Quan app is now available worldwide as an upgrade for select Waters' tandem quadrupole mass spectrometers.
