January 28, 2020 -- Two scientists from the U.K. were recognized for their contributions to the bioprocessing and biologics manufacturing sector at a recent conference.
Sharon Grimster and Sarah Goulding, PhD, were recognized by the U.K. BioIndustry Association at the BioProcessUK Conference in Liverpool in November.
Grimster, vice president and general manager for Wales at ReNeuron, received the Peter Dunnill Award, which was established following the scientist's death in 2009 to mark his lifetime contribution to bioprocessing. Dunnill was instrumental in establishing University College London as a global leader in biochemical engineering.
Goulding, a specialist in advanced therapies and medicines at Knowledge Transfer Network, received the Richard Wilson Impact Award, which acknowledges those who are making an impact on the bioprocessing sector. The award is named in honor of Richard Wilson, who was the co-inventor of the Lonza GS system.
