NanoString improves Illumina’s sequencing systems via data workflow

By The Science Advisory Board staff writers

May 24, 2022 -- NanoString Technologies has released a cloud-based workflow to enable simplified data analysis for researchers using Illumina’s NextSeq 1000 and NextSeq 2000 sequencing systems. This workflow is compatible with Illumina’s sequencing systems in addition to its GeoMx Digital Spatial Profiler and Dynamic Read Analysis for Genomics (DRAGEN) Bio-IT platform. This provides users with end-to-end spatial analysis and processing of whole transcriptomes alongside proteome analytes.

NanoString's workflow facilitates the visualization and analysis of multiomic data by allowing researchers to readily access this data upon completion of sequencing. The workflow adds to the portfolio of previous spatial genomics workflows that were generated as a result of continued partnership between NanoString and Illumina. This includes the GeoMx next-generation sequencing (NGS) Pipeline with DRAGEN, as well as the NanoString GeoMx NGS Pipeline on DRAGEN for NextSeq 1000/2000.

These novel workflows provide streamlined whole transcriptome analysis and protein detection in a spatial context, promoting accelerated discovery and translation research.
