Cellaria launches new tumor modeling platform

By Kate Madden Yee, The Science Advisory Board contributing writer

November 10, 2021 -- Cellaria has launched a new tumor modeling platform that includes a panel of cell culture media for growing cell types, an extracellular neutral collagen matrix, and protocols for testing new drug compounds.

The platform is based on the company's Renaissance Essential Media -- which can be used with lymphocytes, mesenchymal stromal cells, normal cells, and cancer-associated fibroblasts -- and patient-matched cell types that can be combined in organoid models of tumor metastatic nodes and solid tumors. It also consists of the company's Jellagen Extracellular Matrix, a neutral 3D cell culture scaffold, Cellaria said.
