Phenomenex launches new chromatography columns

By The Science Advisory Board staff writers

September 24, 2021 -- Phenomenex has added new chromatography columns to its Biozen biological workflow tools.

Biozen size exclusion chromatography columns (SEC) allow users to separate proteins and other biomolecules with water eluents. SEC can also identify and quantify aggregates, fragments, monomers, and dimer, the company said.

The new columns feature low pore volume silica and a hydrophilic diol-type bonded surface chemistry that prevents the silica from interacting with protein samples and increases column lifetime compared to standard size exclusion chromatography columns, according to Phenomenex.
