Waters launches Arc Premier liquid chromatography

June 15, 2021 -- Lab equipment supplier Waters has unveiled the Arc Premier system, a liquid chromatography system aimed at increasing precision and certainty in chromatography results.

The system, which is the company's first to be optimized for chromatography separations on 2.5-3.5-µ columns and feature its MaxPeak high performance surface technology, yields a five times increase in detector sensitivity and a 10 times improvement in assay precision compared with standard ultrahigh performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) systems and columns, according to Waters.

Arc Premier sharpens chromatographic peaks for metal-sensitive compounds by eliminating secondary interactions; the system complements Waters' MaxPeak Premier Columns to avoid surface interactions that can occur between sample analytes and instrument and column hardware, the company said.

As a result, laboratories can save time by avoiding costly passivation and gain greater confidence in separations results, according to Waters.
