Akoya Biosciences seeks Imaging Innovators Network researchers

By The Science Advisory Board staff writers

May 11, 2021 -- Akoya Biosciences is looking for researchers to join its new Imaging Innovators (I2) Network, a collaborative initiative that aims to support open innovation in spatial biology.

The firm said it plans to initially select 10 researchers who have creative ideas on how to use its Codex multiplex tissue imaging system to advance knowledge in spatial biology. Potential applications could include, for example, multi-analyte or single-molecule detection, 3D imaging, high-speed acquisition, or super-resolution imaging, according to Akoya.

Winners will also gain access to Akoya's new Collaborator's Interface, a proprietary software application that allows users to gain more direct control of the Codex imaging platform and the application of interest, according to the vendor.

Akoya's Codex technology provides multiplex imaging of 40 or more biomarkers in tissue samples, enabling researchers to visualize different cell phenotypes and analyze their effect on disease pathology and progression, the company said. Applications to join the I² Network will be accepted until July 9 at the company's website.
