March 5, 2021 -- Contract research organizations (CROs) are modernizing and speeding up clinical trials with 90% unifying their clinical operations, according to a new report from Veeva Systems.
Due to COVID-19, CROs have eliminated information siloes by sharing information with research sites and sponsors, replaced manual processes, and enabled trial collaboration, the firm found.
To hasten study start-up time, CROs are using electronic trial master file (eTMF) applications with advanced digital and collaboration capabilities, with usage up 49% from 2014. CROs are also moving to improve compliance with standards, visibility into trial status, and monitoring with clinical trial management system (CTMS).
Veeva's annual research details the drivers, barriers, and benefits of a unified clinical operating model from a CRO perspective and tracks the industry's progress. The full report is available at veeva.com/CROReport.
