August 11, 2021 -- Medical technology company Becton Dickinson (BD) has launched a new benchtop cell analyzer called FACSymphony A1 that offers new capabilities in flow cytometry instrumentation to scientific research labs of all sizes.
The FACSymphony A1 cell analyzer is compact enough to be used in small labs with limited space, and it allows larger labs to perform exploratory experiments without tying up freestanding cell analyzers that may be needed for more complex experiments with longer lead times, according to the company.
The new BD FACSymphony A1 cell analyzer brings new flow cytometry capabilities to laboratories of all sizes.
Using fluorescence-activated cell sorter (FACS) technology, the analyzer can precisely isolate selected single cells from complex samples. Also, it is flexible enough to be used in many types of research, including small-particle studies and 16-color immunophenotyping.
FACSymphony A1 confers benefits to scientists and researchers alike, who can use the cell analyzer to conduct a variety of flow cytometry experiments, according to BD.
"We know from our customers that research time and resource allocation are critically important factors in determining the most appropriate cell analyzer to perform their work," said Puneet Sarin, worldwide president of BD Biosciences, in a release issued by the company.
