January 21, 2022 -- Excelra has partnered its Global Online Structure Activity Relationship Database (Gostar) with XtalPi, an artificial intelligence-based pharmaceutical biotechnology company, to reinvent the industry's approach to drug R&D.

Excelra will provide absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, and toxicity (ADMET) datasets in the Gostar database to XtalPi. Gostar's ADMET data will power XtalPi's predictive models. The data will help XtalPi with high precision and predictability to address clinical failures of new chemical entities, the companies said.

The ADMET datasets of Gostar are built with a proprietary quality management system-International Organization for Standardization-certified curation process that is powered by natural language processing and human intelligence.

Gostar provides information encompassing over eight million compounds, which is manually curated from a variety of sources, including patents and journal articles. The database contains over 29 million structure activity relationship-associated data points that can be used for applications across various stages of drug discovery and development as well as target validation, hit identification, early lead identification, and optimization.

No financial details of the collaboration were disclosed.
