Sciex acquires Intabio

January 22, 2021 -- Sciex has acquired Intabio, developer of the Blaze system for biotherapeutic analysis and quality assessment. The Blaze system enables direct coupling of imaged capillary isoelectric focusing for charge variant analysis with high-resolution mass spectrometry to detect intact proteins.

The innovative technology provides a solution for the company's customers who are looking for better and faster tools to characterize their complex biomolecules. The combined Blaze system plus mass spectrometry approach is streamlined to reduce sample preparation times and increases sample throughput.

Intabio employees and products will transition into Sciex while continuing to operate from its existing facilities in Fremont, CA. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
