March 4, 2020 -- MilliporeSigma launched its Lanexo software for lab inventory, safety, and compliance management at the Pittcon meeting in Chicago on March 3. The new digital laboratory informatics software is designed to reduce time in labs and improve data quality and traceability.

The software allows scientific data to be captured and interpreted for immediate use and then stored for future research and development efforts. This will allow scientists to spend more time focusing on their research and analytics work and less time on administrative tasks, according to MilliporeSigma.

Lanexo can rapidly capture digital data transmitted from radiofrequency identification (RFID) labels in real-time. The software also allows inventory to be digitized with expiration and storage monitoring to reduce human error and safety risks and improve reliability and traceability of document compliance. Automatic alerts for expired reagents and reagent identity checks also can be automated during experimental workflows.

Cloud-based technology makes the software easy to set up and rapidly integrated into existing lab workflows and has mobile and web applications. Lanexo is designed for use in analytical and research labs in pharmaceutical, quality assurance/quality control, and industrial testing markets.
