Filtration products provider Donaldson has acquired bioprocessing equipment manufacturer Solaris Biotechnology for approximately 41 million euros ($45.9 million).

Italy-based Solaris designs and manufactures equipment such as bioreactors, fermenters, and tangential flow filtration systems for use in food and beverage, biotechnology, and other life sciences markets, according to Donaldson. Solaris is expected to generate approximately 5 million euros ($5.6 million) in revenue in 2021.

Solaris co-founder and CEO Matteo Brognoli will stay on as managing director and will be responsible for daily operations and growth of the business.
