Elemental Machines acquires Tetra Lab Monitoring

December 14, 2021 -- Elemental Machines has acquired the Tetra Lab Monitoring business, including key hardware, talent, and novel asset integrations from TetraScience. The acquisition strengthens Elemental Machines' leadership in the field of laboratory asset management technology, the company said.

As part of the acquisition, existing Tetra Lab Monitoring customers can continue using Tetra-branded hardware and software. Both brands' customers will enjoy an expanded roster of asset integrations and tools. Existing Elemental Machines customers will inherit the capability to support thousands of new instrument integrations, while TetraScience customers will gain new features like smart alerts and lab asset scheduling software, according to the firms.

TetraScience's co-founder Sal Savo will join Elemental Machines as chief technology officer.

Elemental Machines equips labs with universal cloud-based dashboards and turnkey sensors, enabling universal collection, sharing, and turnkey reporting. TetraScience is a R&D data cloud company that has built a large integration network of lab instruments, informatics applications, contract research organizations/contract development and manufacturing organizations, analytics, and data science partners to create seamless interoperability.

Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
