June 23, 2022 -- Clinical trial software company Florence Healthcare has completed its $27 million series C funding round, led by global software investor Insight Partners.

Florence Healthcare has raised $114.1 million thus far and the new investment will support the company's mission of doubling the output of clinical trials in the next eight years by enabling remote access, the firm said. The funds will also go toward expanding Florence Healthcare's staffing, enhancing its product offerings, and accelerating connectivity across its global network.

Florence Healthcare seeks to digitize research operations to diversify the site landscape and allow clinical trials to be conducted at sites closer to underrepresented patients who can't afford to travel to major academic medical centers.

In other news, Florence Healthcare reached some milestones: 100 million research documents hosted on its platform and 100 million remote research activities conducted in its ecosystem.
