ARMI launches new tech roadmap for pandemic response and recovery

April 19, 2021 -- The Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute (ARMI) has released a document that outlines a technology-based plan for U.S. pandemic response and preparedness.

The document, called "The National Technology Roadmap for Pandemic Response and Recovery," is the first from the manufacturing sphere, according to ARMI. It outlines ways to improve pandemic response through resilient supply chains, flexible and robust manufacturing, effective distribution and access to necessary products, sound data infrastructure, and accelerated regulatory processes, ARMI said.

ARMI, a nonprofit organization, leads BioFabUSA, a Department of Defense-sponsored Manufacturing USA Institute. The public-private partnership is dedicated to the advanced biomanufacturing and commercialization of cells, tissues, and tissue-related technologies, developing a robust supply chain to support biomanufacturing, and creating a ready and trained workforce for biomanufacturing.
