By The Science Advisory Board staff writers

December 8, 2020 -- Emulate said that the U.S. Army will be using its Alveolus Lung-Chip technology to study the effects of the SARS-CoV-2 virus on human lung tissue.

Specifically, researchers at the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Chemical Biological Center are using the Lung-Chip technology to observe intracellular interactions and to better understand the role of proteins within lung cells on disease processes, according to the company.

The research is being funded by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
