SAB NewsBig Winners of the “IT in Genomics Research” Study DrawingPosted 3/2/2005 Big Winners of the “IT in Genomics Research” Study Drawing The Science Advisory Board surveyed more than 600 life scientists in order to identify the hardware and software used for the analysis, integration and transmission of genomics research data. In this study, genomics research was defined as either the use of techniques, such as amplification, genotyping and sequencing to acquire data, or the use of tools to access and analyze this data. To read a summary of the study’s highlights, please click on the link to the Study Snapshots section at: http://www.scienceboard.net/studies/studies.112.html. As a token of our appreciation, study participants were entered into additional drawings for exciting prizes. We are excited to announce that Elizabeth Ledger, a professor at Texas Tech University won an Apple iPod and that Tom Berryere, a lab technician at the University of Saskatchewan, was selected as the winner of a $100 (USD) Amazon.com gift certificate. When informed that she had won, Professor Ledger commented, “I’m really glad to be part of The SAB and I enjoy visiting the website and seeing what other scientists are saying on the Forum. My membership with the SAB has been a very positive experience and I am grateful for the opportunities to contribute to The SAB’s studies.” Congratulations to everyone who made this study possible. The Science Advisory Board provides opportunities for its members to earn honoraria each and every time they participate in SAB-sponsored studies. Interested in finding out more?
